Goals for 3 year olds

Spiritual:                   

• To learn who Jesus is
• To learn that prayer is talking to God
• To learn that God is always with us
• To be reverent at prayer time

Cognitive:                   

• To begin to recognize letters and numbers
• To begin to audibly recognize rhyming words
• To recognize basic shapes
• To recognize basic colors
• To begin to pair related items

Physical:                   

• To be able to identify common body parts
• To begin to be able to catch a ball
• To walk and run smoothly
• To begin to dress self
• To begin to use art materials effectively  

Social:                   

• To learn to show sympathy and kindness to others
• To learn to share and take turns
• To learn to listen and follow directions
• To learn proper manners
• To learn to use words to settle conflicts
• To toilet self with little help
• To learn to play cooperatively

Emotional:                   

• To be happy and secure at school
• To be able to show affection when appropriate
• To show respect for self and others
• To develop friendships with peers
• To develop compassion for others
